About

Podiatry is a medical science of foot and ankle health it focuses on the medical and mechanical aspects of the lower limb. This is especially important for pain free walking and facilitating the ability to do sport.

Mechanically the focus is on the postural relationship with the rest of the body and intrinsically within the foot and ankle. It is important to identify which structures are affected, bone, joint, muscle, tendon and or skin and nail.

Medically, it is important to understand the underlying health of the patient and how it affects the extremities. Each patient is a complex set of factors. Lifestyle is another element which needs to be considered, activity levels and footwear needs to help make a treatment plan.
